The A to Z

78 words across three pillars.

A
Future Skills A-Z

A is for Adaptation, Agentic and Abundance.

Climate fluency

Adaptation

/ˌadapˈteɪʃ(ə)n/ · noun

The process of changing to suit new conditions, especially in response to environmental change.

Why it matters now: Some climate impacts are already locked in. Cutting emissions still matters, and so does getting ready for what's coming.

Try today: Pick one process, product or plan, check how exposed it is to climate, and name one change that would make it more resilient.

AI skills

Agentic

/eɪˈdʒɛntɪk/ · adjective

Acting with agency; in AI, describing a system that can plan and take multi-step actions toward a goal with limited supervision.

Why it matters now: AI agents are moving out of pilots and into real work. When one acts on its own, someone still has to own the result.

Try today: Before you let an AI tool act for you, decide who checks its work and how.

Future mindset

Abundance

/əˈbʌndəns/ · noun

A very large quantity of something; here, a mindset that assumes there is enough opportunity, resource or reward to go around.

Why it matters now: Climate and AI are reshaping markets fast. The organisations that keep spotting new openings tend to do better.

Try today: Take one challenge on your plate this week and ask what opportunity might be hiding in it.
